This is it! We’re at the end! And we’re back to my regular rambles in the blog each week, rather than character takeovers or promotions.
What am I talking about, exactly? Well, the past three months–August, September, and October–saw the release of the first four books in the Alchemical Tales series. (I’ve taken to calling that time “rapid release season,” haha.) For any other writers out there, maybe in the future I’ll do some posts talking about how I did it (have a backlog of books written before you begin) and why (to have a backlog of books published!) and how well it worked. Right now, I’m a bit too worn out for such critical thought. 😉
Instead, I’m using this post as a handy reference for the four books now out in the world:
Book 1: Beauty and the Alchemist (August 2022)
In this magical mix-up of fairy tales and murder, Little Red Riding Hood solves the mystery at the heart of Beauty and the Beast . . . What does it take to overcome a curse? Alchemist Red and her friends will need all the help they can get to solve a crime and uncover the truth!
Book 2: Cold as Snow (September 2022)
In this magical twist on a familiar tale, alchemist Red sets out to answer the riddle behind deadly apples and a cursed mirror . . . Who gets to decide who’s fairest of all? And who would be willing to kill over it? She’ll need all her old friends–and eight new ones, too!–to put this case on ice.
Book 3: Mermaid for Danger (October 2022)
In this murderous twist on The Little Mermaid, alchemist Red discovers that true love can be more dangerous than it seems. It’ll take the help of her friends to discover . . . what is the true price of devotion? When the groom’s father is murdered during a friend’s wedding celebration, Red and William come to the rescue.
Book 4: Cry Big Bad Wolf (October 2022)
In this mysterious twist on tales like The Three Little Pigs and The Boy Who Cried Wolf, alchemist Red runs headlong into a new problem . . . how do you sort out the sheep from the wolf in sheep’s clothing? This Halloween in Belville, a robber is playing deadly tricks in the nearby forest, and Red’s neighbors look to her for help.
It’s been a tough–but fun–journey! And stay tuned: we’ll have more adventures in Belville in 2023. But until then, I’m taking things easy for a while. 🙂
