So, as it turns out, this month isn’t all about the Cinders to Dust release. 😉 Yesterday I was having a blast chatting with book club members over at facebook.com/groups/cozymysteryreaders. For several hours, I hosted an “author takeover”–basically a set time where I shared a series of posts about my book, and group members could comment. We went through ten different posts on Beauty and the Alchemist, and after carefully creating all those goofy graphics, I wanted to share them with you, too!

For other authors out there prepping for takeover events: my advice is have fun and be patient. Replying to the comments and having discussion is a little like an avalanche. At first just one or two comments rolls in, and then as you post more content, more and more comments come in, and eventually you’re swept away in the momentum of it. About three to five posts per hour works best for me. And as for graphics to use, I like to create a background that “feels” like my series, and keep the title and photo number consistent (numbering the photos helps group members who randomly spot a post to realize that it’s part of an event!). To that, I’ll add an image and question for each post. Of course, I ramble on in the description as well, but I try to make sure the image can speak for itself.

Hope that helps! For you who have read Beauty and the Alchemist, enjoy the silly graphics and questions below. 🙂 Feel free to let me know your answers in the comments if a question strikes your fancy!
