Last week I went on and on about 2021. 🙂 This week, just briefly, I wanted to share my goals for 2022!

  1. Self-publish some books. First on the list is Gallery of Myth, a contemporary humor and fantasy mix-up novel that I first wrote years ago. This month and next, I’ll be brushing the dust off it and bringing it into the light! Gallery will be my guinea pig for self-publishing, and if it goes well I may do more in the future. Of course, it’s also a really fun story in its own right, and I’m excited to share more about it next week!
  2. Keep querying. That’s right, I’m keeping both routes open for now. The good thing about the fact that I’ve always had my nose stuck in a notebook/word doc is that I have a lot of material to work with — and while some of those stories are better for self-publishing, I’m going to keep querying some others as well.
  3. Grow online! In last week’s post I talked a lot about social media and the communities I’ve found — and all the things I’ve learned. Well, here’s hoping that will continue exponentially this year! Maintaining an online presence feels a bit like building a sandcastle without knowing when the tide will come in, but if I can have confidence in anything, it’s in the fact that I can do better.
  4. And on that note — feed that confidence. This is probably the least tangible but most important of my “author goals” for 2022. Like building a web presence, it can feel a bit shaky at times. But I’ve already made big strides, and I intend to keep going. 🙂

Oh, yeah, and I guess since I’m a writer I should write? 😀 That part happens whether I write it down as one of my goals or not, haha.

2022 is going to be a big year around here! I hope it brings lots of new adventures and good things your way, as well. 🙂
