In honor of the release of Beauty and the Alchemist this month, I’m letting the characters take over the blog. Today’s post comes from Officer Thorn, Belville’s local police force. Enjoy! –Elle

Can’t say I’m big on writing, myself. I do my reports for the Guild, sure, but that’s about it. Red makes fun of me, saying I know the Police Guild Handbook front to back, but that’s just memorization–no writing involved in that.

In the Handbook, it says that if you find yourself out of your depth, you just stick to facts. So here’s what I can say for sure about the business with the haunted castle:

  1. Two people were murdered. One by Owl, and then Owl himself. That latter one was the more mysterious one.
  2. Strange mist creatures were endangering the townsfolk–even the folks you’d think are too tough to be endangered, like Gloria. Seems to me she’d scare off a mist creature, easy. But that’s neither here nor there.
  3. Somehow or another, history got all mixed up in the crime. I guess that makes sense, since the criminal was a historian. And so was the main suspect . . .
  4. . . . Which Red is still sore about to this day, mark my words. Also, she hates it if you ever say anything about a “ghost boyfriend.” Try it yourself, and see!

That about wraps things up from my perspective. My advice to you is, stay out of ancient ruins, and stay out of trouble. 😉

That’s it from Officer Thorn. If you’d like to know what she’s talking about, the answers are in Beauty and the Alchemist! Check it out by following this link: books2read.com/beauty-and-the-alchemist.
